American track and field athlete, Kenny Bednarek, is making a name for himself. He could’ve just been a kid from Wisconsin that ran fast, but this kid had a dream. And as we know it’s the dreamers that make history.
In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Kung Fu Kenny showed us he is a force to be reckoned with. Not only did he make the 100m USA relay team, he also took home the silver medal in the men’s 200m. Following that monumental achievement, he went on to beat gold medalist, Andre De Grasse, at the 2021 Diamond League World Championships and placed first at the World Continental Event in Ostrava. With such significant victories under his belt, Bednarek closed out the year on quite a high note when he made history as the first sprinter to ever run sub 20 in 10 wind-legal 200m races in a single season. He also achieved a personal goal of being ranked #1 in the world and was awarded “Most Consistent Track and Field Athlete.”
Currently ranked #3 in the men’s 200m, this World Championship and Olympic silver medalist is going for the gold and ready to break records.
Internationally recognized as a leading athlete, Bednarek represents the USA with pride. His unique charisma has garnered Kung Fu Kenny quite the following and he is a beloved figure to many. With so many eyes upon him, Kenny doesn’t take his position lightly- demonstrating his commendable character with immense gratitude and humility every time his feet hit the track.
This young athlete has only just begun his journey, and the world watches in anticipation to see how his story continues to unfold.
